Notes Client Federated login without Vault password

I'm looking for an option to start a new installed Notes client directly with the user's Windows Active Directory credentials without the need to enter the Notes Vault password first.

But the policy for the Federated login is only applied after the user put in the Vault password. Is there any possibility to avoid the Notes Vault passwort? The users are annoyed of any additional password. They want to use real single sign on, not a password sync that is always a pain.

Best regards

Frank

I think something is missing
If I look at https://www-01.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?uid=swg27046443&aid=1
and
https://www.ibm.com/support/knowledgecenter/en/SSKTMJ_9.0.1/admin/secu_using_notes_federated_login_in_combination_with_client_single_login_to_support_offline_users_windows_only.html

I get the feeling something is missing in your setup.  The presentation (first link) lists the requirements and steps that need to be taken for Federated login to be properly set up and configured.

The Vault password being asked for indicates that Domino is unable to verify the users identity completely. Please report if you find anything, that will help solve this for other people encountering the same set of circumstances.

Best regards,

Lars
